This is kombu (kelp) from the Rausu region of Hokkaido. It is a very tasty and valuable kelp. It is said to produce the richest soup stock among kelp. Because it makes a strong dashi stock, it is better suited for dashi stock made from kombu alone than for combined dashi stock.

Founded in April 1916 as Dosho Kombu in Kojimacho, Toyama City. At the time of establishment, there were many fish wholesalers in Kojima Town. Started wholesaling kombu (kelp) to fish wholesalers in order for them to marinate fish with kombu and preserve it for a long time.
