Surrounded with an environment rich with water from nearby mountains and large temperature differences between day and night, a variety of branded rice is cultivated in Aizu. Aizu is known as a premier rice-producing region in Japan. Koshihikari and Hitomebore are two of the most famous brands. Ten-no-tsubu and Satoyama-no-tsubu are Fukushima’s original brands which has been developed over a period of more than 10 years. Both Ten-no-tsubu and Satoyama-no-tsubu have already been shipped to the United States.

Aizu Yotsuba Agricultural Cooperatives is a local JA (Japan Agri Cooperatives) with 17 cities and towns in Aizu region, which covers almost half of Fukushima Prefecture. The area is known for tasty agricultural products thanks to its rich natural environment, including abundance of clean water and large difference in daily temperatures. Aizu is one of the most prominent rice cultivating regions and produces a wide variety of agricultural products. Rice is one of our major products. "Inawashiro Ten-no-tsubu" has already been exported to 8 countries. Koshihikari, Hitomebore, Ten-no-tsubu and Satoyama-no-tsubu are named as "Gokujo-no-Aizu mai" (Premium Aizu Rice) and has also been shipped to some countries. In addition, premium sake "Inawashiro Ten-no-tsubu" Junmai Dai-Ginjo is available.
